The ocean moves to a rhythm of its own, with conditions shifting day to day alongside the tides. Some days are calm, while others bring wind, swell, or fog. Waves are almost always present, and not every arch is accessible at times. Each day reveals the coast differently.

Exact directions to the meeting location are provided in your confirmation email after booking. Due to limited cell service near Secret Beach and throughout the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor, we strongly recommend planning ahead and using Google Maps with downloaded directions, as other navigation apps often route incorrectly in this area.
All trips require reservations by 8 pm the day prior. Tours begin in the morning at 8am, and typically last around 3-4 hours start to finish. Private tours are available with custom start times and durations. The exact meeting location is provided after booking. Please refer to your confirmation email for directions. This experience takes place along the coastline in Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor near the Secret Beach Trailhead, located just off HWY 101.
We provide everything you need — kayaks, paddles, wetsuits, booties, life jackets, and a guide. Prior kayaking experience is strongly recommended to ensure a safe and rewarding adventure for everyone on the tour.
NOTE: This is a physically demanding ocean kayaking tour and may not be suitable for everyone. The hike down to the beach is moderately strenuous, with uneven natural terrain that includes rocks, roots, steep sections, and areas of loose footing. Participants should be comfortable carrying a kayak weighing up to 45 lbs, hiking this terrain, and paddling for extended periods in ocean conditions.
Preparing for the paddle
Check-In & Gear Up
As everyone arrives, we take time to get outfitted in wetsuits and paddling gear, complete waivers, store valuables, and go over any general questions. We carry a variety of sizes to help ensure guest comfort and provide all the equipment needed for the experience. Underneath the wetsuit, guests can wear swimwear or underwear on the bottom and a lightweight synthetic layer on top. A lightweight rain jacket or windbreaker is also recommended, especially if you tend to run cold.
Hike & Launch
From our meeting location in the parking lot, we will hike to the beach fully outfitted in our paddling gear and equipment. The trail includes some moderately steep sections and uneven terrain. Once on the beach, we will go over the details of the paddle, discuss our planned route based on the conditions, and host a safety briefing before launching onto the water.
Paddle Experience
Teleport to another world on the water. Depending on the season and daily conditions, we may paddle beneath towering cliffs, explore sea caves and arches carved by the Pacific, weave between offshore islands and rugged coastline, and glide over kelp beds. Along the way, keep an eye out for seals, sea lions, seabirds, river otters, whales, and the abundance of life found within the intertidal zone. Morning light filtering through old-growth spruce trees, rolling fog, changing tides, and ocean swell ensure that no two paddles are ever quite the same.
Return & Change Out
Upon returning to the beach, we will rinse gear and prepare the boats for the hike back to the trailhead. Depending on your tour selection, guests may be responsible for carrying boats and equipment. A rinse station is provided for all guests, making it easy to change into dry clothes before departure. This is especially helpful for those with long travel days ahead or who are unable to secure a late checkout.
