As everyone arrives, we take time to get outfitted in wetsuits and paddling gear, complete waivers, store valuables, and go over any general questions. We carry a variety of sizes to help ensure guest comfort and provide all equipment needed for the experience. Underneath the wetsuit, guests can wear swimwear or underwear on the bottom and a lightweight synthetic layer on the upper body. A lightweight rain jacket or windbreaker is also recommended, especially if you tend to run cold.

From our meeting location in the parking lot, we will hike to the beach fully outfitted in our paddling gear and equipment. The trail includes some moderately steep sections and uneven terrain. Once on the beach, we will go over the details of the paddle, discuss our planned route based on the conditions, and host a safety briefing before launching onto the water.

Teleport to another world on the water. Depending on the season and daily conditions, we may paddle beneath towering cliffs, explore sea caves and arches carved by the Pacific, weave between offshore islands and rugged coastline, and glide over kelp beds. Along the way, keep an eye out for seals, sea lions, seabirds, river otters, whales, and the abundance of life found within the intertidal zone. Morning light filtering through old-growth spruce trees, rolling fog, changing tides, and ocean swell ensure that no two paddles are ever quite the same.

Upon returning to the beach, we will rinse gear and prepare the boats for the hike back to the trailhead. Depending on your tour selection, guests may be responsible for carrying boats and equipment. A rinse station is provided for all guests, making it easy to change into dry clothes before departure. This is especially helpful for those with long travel days ahead or who are unable to secure a late checkout.
